The Franklin Mint Collectors Society Gold Ingot (Franklin Mint, 1976)
1000 grains 24KT gold. This was the first solid gold ingot ever issued by the Franklin Mint. It was also the largest and heaviest gold ingot ever issued by the firm. Created by Gilroy Roberts. The face of the ingot bears the classic portrait of Benjamin Franklin which was created by Mr. Roberts when the Mint was first founded. The reverse bears an inscription that guarantees the weight and purity. Each ingot is serially numbered. Only 600 were issued. This ingot was made available only to Franklin Mint Collectors Society Members. Issued in 1976. 1 3/4" x 7/8" x 1/8". Proof.
