The Apostle Spoons Collection (Franklin Mint, 1973)

NOTES

This was the first complete set of sterling silver Apostle Spoons produced in America since the turn of the century. The distinguished religious artist Rodney Winfield created the designs on the spoons. The front of each spoon bears a sculptured portrait of Jesus or one of His apostles. On the back is the name and traditional symbol of that apostle. The portion of the Apostles' Creed is etched into the bowl of each spoon. The reverse of each spoon is stamped "STERLING".

The collection is comprised of (13) beautiful sterling silver collector spoons; each approx. 5-1/2 inches in length. The 12 Apostle spoons are approximately 5 1/2 inches long and the Jesus Christ spoon is approx. 6 1/4 inches. The master spoon, portraying Jesus, fits into the larger indentation at the top center, with the 12 Apostle Spoons surrounding it. The case with its covers can be used as an attractive standing display or can be hung on the wall by removing the hardwood frame from the white case.

The collection was available during 1973-1974. There were 9749 sets produced.
